Lab Director | Shalini Sivathasan, PhD
Dr. Sivathasan (she/her) is an Assistant Professor in Counseling, Developmental, and Educational Psychology at Boston College. She completed her PhD in School/Applied Child Psychology at McGill University and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh. She is trained as a child psychologist and clinical researcher, having worked with several diverse populations, with a focus on neurodevelopmental disabilities (e.g., autism) and mental health challenges.
Currently, Dr. Sivathasan’s research interests broadly center around improving behavioral health outcomes and access to care among people with multiple marginalized identities (e.g., autism, racial/ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+, socioeconomic disadvantage). She hopes to leverage expert knowledge through collaborations with people with lived experiences, families, community partners, and professionals in order to develop individual and systems-level interventions for marginalized children, adolescents, and adults.
